It’s Pruning Season!

The winemaking journey doesn’t stop end after harvest or even bottling. As the wines continue to age in barrel or tanks the grapevines undergo their own special journey. The winter air is crisp and cold and the vines are left bare, it is the perfect time for pruning! Pruning is a vital part of the health of the grapevines. The trimming promotes new growth that encourages the vine to yield high-quality fruit. Pruning also gives us some control of the spacing of the vines to ensure the new growth has enough air flow and sun. When the vines awaken in spring, the new vine growth will be boosted by the pruning from the winter months. Pruning assures the health of the vine and the quality of the fruit and the end product… the WINE!
