How to Have the Perfect Winery Christmas in Sonoma County
Everyone talks about dreaming of a white Christmas — but what about a wine country Christmas? Get in the holiday spirit with the most magical Christmas celebrations in Sonoma County.
Visit the Bricoleur Vineyards Holiday Market
One of the most special parts of the holiday season is having the opportunity to gather as a community to celebrate. The Bricoleur Vineyards Holiday Market is a cherished tradition that the Sonoma County community looks forward to each year, and we’re thrilled to bring it back again this year on December 14th and 15th!
Make your list and check it twice, because the Bricoleur Vineyards Holiday Market is the perfect chance to finish up your Christmas shopping. Shop a wide variety of local vendors to discover unique artisan gifts for friends and family as you sip Bricoleur Christmas wines.
Santa will be available for photos, and we’ll have various holiday activities and food for guests to enjoy. We’re also excited to host a toy drive that benefits the Santa Tim organization to help make the holidays special for children in need this season.
Guests under the age of 21 attend for free, so it’s the perfect event for the whole family. See our official event listing for the full list of vendors for each day of the market: Day 1 | Day 2
Merry Healdsburg Tree Lighting Celebration
Step into that small town Hallmark movie feeling when you attend the Merry Healdsburg Tree Lighting Celebration. Held on December 6th, 2024, it’s the perfect way for the whole family to kick off the holiday season together. Enjoy complimentary photos with Santa, a holiday night market, live musical performances, free carriage rides, and more.
Plus, see the beautiful downtown Healdsburg Christmas tree come to life for the first time this holiday season. You’ll feel the magic of Christmas as you soak in the winter wonderland.
Attend the Bricoleur Vineyards Holiday Concert
It doesn’t feel like the holiday season until we kick the celebrations off with the annual Bricoleur Vineyards Holiday Concert. This unforgettable night of live music and world-class food and wine will be held on December 7th and features legendary songwriters Patrick Davis and Lauren Jenkins, and attendees will indulge in an incredible four course dining experience courtesy of Bricoleur’s expert culinary team.
At Bricoleur Vineyards, we’re passionate about pouring into our community, which is why we’re so grateful to be partnering with Toys for Tots for the second year in a row for our holiday concert! Concert attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate at the event to help brighten the holiday season of a child in need.
Tickets to this event go quickly, so be sure to purchase yours before they’re gone.
Enjoy a Seasonal Wine Tasting
What’s a winery Christmas without Christmas wines? Each December, your favorite Sonoma County wineries get into the spirit of the holidays, curating seasonal tastings that embrace the festivities. Check with your favorite wineries to see if they’re doing anything special — we always love Jordan Winery and Dry Creek Vineyard!
Spend a Day at Jordan Winery
There are few places in Healdsburg more magical at Christmastime than Jordan Winery. The estate is beautifully decorated all season long, with trees, lights, and elegant décor all around.
From December 2nd through December 20th, you’ll want to take advantage of Jordan’s Holiday Tour and Tasting. Visitors will take part in a walking tour of the winery’s historic oak tanks before enjoying a seated tasting in the beautifully decorated dining room — which has recently undergone breathtaking renovations.
Surrounded by friends and fellow wine lovers, you’ll have the opportunity to sample current release Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon alongside hors d’oeuvres crafted by the estate Chef as you sit by the fire. Finish off your time at Jordan Winery with hot chocolate and homemade holiday cookies — the perfect way to celebrate the season.
Take in the Beauty of Sonoma County at Christmastime
Sonoma County is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and while you might not automatically consider December to be peak wine country season, there’s nothing like the magic of Christmas in Sonoma.
If you’re on a budget this year, or simply want to celebrate the holiday festivities in a more laid-back manner, give yourself the freedom to just explore Sonoma County. There’s so much to see and experience, and you never know what you might stumble onto when you allow space for discovery.
Wander downtown Sonoma and the Sonoma Plaza area and experience Christmas spirit around every corner. The beautiful decorations and lights are sure to enchant you, and once you start exploring, you’ll be amazed at how many unique shops and restaurants you’ll find.
Or, if you need a break from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and last-minute Christmas preparations, retreat into the natural beauty of Sonoma County. Hike along the coast or among the redwoods, or drive through the valley and enjoy stunning vineyard views. It’s the perfect spot to escape for a moment of tranquil peace.
