Just a few minutes from downtown Sonoma, Bartholomew has some of the most expansive grounds, including wide lawns with picnic tables and hiking trails in and around the surrounding estate and vineyards.

Breathless wines is a sparkling wine house founded by three devoted sisters, who make it a point to constantly donate and support local charities through their revenue. The winery often hosts fundraisers as well, including for the Humane Society of Sonoma County.

A winery with a wine dog named “Obi Wine Kenobi,” and its own themed wine to match, is undoubtedly dog-friendly. With a focus on clean, sustainable wine, Deerfield allows friendly dogs on a leash around any of their tasting experiences.

Dogs are more than welcome at this tasting room, boasting prime ocean views from the patio – just be sure to notify them ahead of time that you’re bringing a four-legged friend (just as you would make a reservation ahead of time for the humans among you!).

A laid back winery not far from the central square of Sonoma proper, “GunBun” offers picnic tables with vineyard views as well as seated indoor and outdoor patio tastings, often with live music, and always with small bites available (for humans). Dogs are welcome on a leash for any of the tastings, but not for any of the available tour options.

Join Kunde on April 20th, June 8th, or November 2nd for a Dog Hike with Jordan Kunde, who will guide you on a 4-hour walking hike of the estate, all the way up into the family’s vineyards in the Mayacamas, learning about the winemaking process all the way. The hike concludes with a wine tasting and wine country lunch.

Larson boasts a winery-dog-themed “Three Lab Cab,” named after winery dogs Rosko, Louie, and Gus. Dogs are welcome in the tasting barn, lawn, and picnic area.

The first impression of this vineyard is the massive metal sculptures of the Torres family’s Springer Spaniels that guard the driveway up to the winery. The family welcomes dogs in any of the outdoor areas on-site.

Mutt Lynch Winery

“Mutt” in the name turns out to be a sure clue to this winery’s dog-friendliness – it’s entirely dog-themed, and one of the most dog-friendly. Owners Brenda and Chris Lynch often host “Yappy Hours” for their staff’s and guest’s furry companions, and contribute funds to animal rescue services through sales of their wines, all of which have dog themed names and/or labels.

From the giant steel coyote structure at the forefront of the winery, to the proprietary “Three Dog Zin,” named after the family’s three dogs, Molly, Sydney and Victoria, to Molly’s Zinfandel, named after the Wilson Family’s first winery dog, to plenty of water and treats, Wilson winery is a sure haven for your well-behaved dogs. Part of the sales from Three Dog Zin also goes toward local animal shelters and non-profit rescues.
