2021 Alexander Valley Zinfandel

This expressive Zinfandel opens with an inviting bouquet of ripe blackberries and dark cherries,
delivering a burst of fruit on the palate. Notes of subtle baking spices and a touch of vanilla enhance the complexity, creating a harmonious interplay of flavors. The wine’s velvety texture and well-integrated tannins contribute to a smooth and luxurious mouthfeel. The finish is enduring, leaving a lingering impression of the rich fruit and a subtle hint of oak.

After a particularly brief winter the 2021 growing season was a harmonious one and promises to be a great vintage for winemaking in Sonoma County. The season got off to an early start and a mild summer resulted in wonderful fruit across the county. Ideal temperatures right up to harvest coupled with a slightly below average crop size resulted in varieties ripening at similar times, making for a quick and fast-paced harvest of excellent quality. Great flavor development and acid preservation resulted in extremely balanced wines we can’t wait to share.

Bricoleur Vineyards’ 2021 Alexander Valley Zinfandel was hand harvested at night and then meticulously sorted at the cellar before being destemmed and going into an open-top fermenting tank. The must cold soaked for three days and was then brought up to temperature to begin fermentation. Pumpovers were performed multiple times daily and tank temperatures were monitored closely to help with color, flavor, and phenolic extraction. After alcoholic fermentation was complete the tank was pressed and
barreled down.
