Farming & Sustainabilty

Estate Grown

Organically Farmed. Sustainably Grown.

At Bricoleur Vineyards, sustainability is not a trend - it’s our tradition. From hand-tended vines and organically grown produce to regenerative gardening practices and responsible winemaking, every decision we make is guided by a deep respect for the land and the people it sustains. We’re proud to cultivate a thriving estate where biodiversity, flavor, and purpose come together—nourishing both the earth and every experience we share.

Sweet Sustainability

Our estate honey bees are vital to pollinating our gardens, fruit trees, and flowers—helping our ecosystem thrive. Tended with care, the hives support biodiversity and sustainability across the property while producing small-batch honey that reflects the flavor of our land.

Grown with Purpose

Organic in Practice

While not certified organic, our vineyard and gardening practices meet and often exceed organic standards. We never use non-organic pesticides or herbicides - only natural, approved treatments, and even those are used sparingly. Our team favors traditional, hands-on methods to protect biodiversity, soil health, and flavor integrity.

Sustainable Energy for a Flourishing Estate

Powered by the Sun

Sustainability touches every corner of life at Bricoleur Vineyards - from our vineyards and gardens to our chickens, bees, and fruit trees. Our 260-panel solar power system fuels much of our daily farm operations, helping us reduce emissions while supporting the animals, crops, and culinary program that define our estate. Over 25 years, this system will offset more than 5 million pounds of CO₂—the equivalent of planting 43 acres of trees or avoiding 8 million car miles. It’s clean energy, rooted in purpose.

A Taste of the Land, Grown Just for You

Garden to Table

Our garden program is a vibrant extension of our estate-to-plate philosophy. From raised beds to field plantings, every garden space at Bricoleur Vineyards is cultivated to nourish our culinary offerings, support local restaurants and food banks, and inspire guests. With six distinct gardens and a commitment to sustainability, we grow with intention - feeding our community and the land itself.

Legacy Through the Land

Rooted in Sustainability

Sustainability is more than a practice - it’s a promise. As a Certified Sustainable Vineyard and Snail of Approval awardee, we steward our gardens with deep care:

Cover Cropping & Rotation

We replenish soil health with seasonal cover crops in our vineyards and rotate plantings to maintain balance.

Composting & Local Amendments

From kitchen scraps and vineyard waste to Azolla from our irrigation pond, everything is recycled back into the earth.

Seed Saving

We save and reuse seeds from productive crops to strengthen biodiversity and close the loop on our growing cycle.

Pollinator Paradise

We have over 100 fruit trees on the property including peach, plum, fig, and more, all providing essential food sources for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

At Bricoleur Vineyards, our gardens are more than just beautiful - they’re essential to our estate-to-plate experience. Spread across the property, each of our six distinct garden spaces is thoughtfully designed to grow seasonal produce, herbs, and flowers that support our culinary program, nourish our community, and reflect the rhythms of the land. From tucked-away field beds to raised chef gardens, every plot is rooted in sustainability, intention, and a deep love for feeding people well.

The back Garden

Where Summer Produce Shines

Nestled behind the Winery Barn, this garden features 28 raised beds and a small greenhouse, home to heat-loving crops like tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash during the warmer months. It’s a thriving, seasonal space that plays a key role in our estate-to-plate culinary offerings.

Front Garden

Our Chef’s Go-To Beds

Located near the rose garden, this collection of 12 raised beds offers quick access to herbs, edible flowers, and fresh vegetables. As the most visible garden, it invites guests to see what’s in season and inspires the dishes created just steps away in our kitchen.

Lower Garden

Tucked Away and Rich with Renewal

Hidden among the vines on the eastern edge of the estate, this field garden floods naturally each winter, replenishing nutrients with alluvial soil. Used seasonally for warm-weather crops, it’s a reminder of nature’s rhythm and resilience.

Secret Garden

Where Bees, Blossoms & Beauty Meet

Framed by ancient oaks and vines, the Secret Garden features raised beds bursting with cutting flowers and seasonal produce. It’s also home to our estate honeybees, who pollinate the blooms and bring biodiversity to the heart of our property.

Pumpkin Patch

Harvest on the Hillside

Just in front of our pond, this terraced garden is planted with winter squash and heirloom pumpkins that cascade down the slope come fall. Built using stone from our Kick Ranch vineyard, it connects our land’s past to its future.

Vineyard Garden

Our Newest & Largest Growing Space

Once home to grapevines, this newly transformed garden now supports long-season crops like corn, peppers, and onions, as well as vibrant beds of leafy greens and root vegetables. It’s also the heart of our harvesting station - where produce is washed, packed, and prepped for our kitchen and community.
