About Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area

Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area is a non-profit organization that creates life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses. Founded in 1984, we serve 17 counties in Northern California, from Siskiyou to Monterey. One of the largest Make-A-Wish chapters nationwide, we’ve granted more than 8,500 wishes for local children in our chapter’s 35-year history.

Each wish we grant is as unique as the child themselves. We transform kids into cookbook authors and veterinarians. We introduce them to exciting locations like Alaska, Antarctica, or their favorite theme park. And we give them computers, quinceañeras, and ice cream parties.

Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. And wishes don’t only help these children—they also have far-reaching, positive impacts on their families and communities.
